Perkins A3.152 Rebuild

I just got word from my machine shop that my bores are at 3.689 give or take .002. The spec sheet I have states the max is 3.6885. I don't think that extra 5 thousanths is going to make a difference. I now have the option of going with either cast or chrome liners due to the fact that the head is going to get decked so the recessed lip is going to have to get cut back in. I'm looking for thoughts on which to go with.

Go with the cast liners every time, Perkins obviously found out there was a problem with the chrome liners'pulling down' and went to the cast method AND they have stayed that way up to the end of production of that engine.

Well, my machine shop told me the block needs decked so I am going with the cast liners. As a side note I had the head machined on the exhaust side and the combustion chamber caps 'flattened.' They were both warped bad! They now almost seal without a gasket.

Well I took the advice here and got the cast liners and just got the block back today. Time to get it all together now. To note, the top needed to be decked and the cylinders were out of round.... both drastically.
