Peter Wright anvil

I bought a bunch of tools and in the lot is a Peter Wright anvil made in England. 128 lb. Do any of you know of a marketplace selling anvils?

Should sell just about anywhere. The "youtube blacksmith craze" is still going strong. People pay ridiculous amounts of money for anvils, especially Peter Wrights.

Frankly an "anvil marketplace" is likely to end up getting you less money for your anvil because you're marketing to people who actually know anvils. You could put it on Craigslist or FB Marketplace and pretty much name your price. Some fool will pay it.

For reference I've seen decent looking anvils that size bring $700+ at auctions.

In today's market, $5 a pound for a pristine Peter Wright would be cheap. I've seen anvils with broken edges and marked up tables bring $650. Frankly, if it is in as good condition as you say, I would not be surprised if you could get $1,000 for it. What's crazy is you can tell that people are buying anvils with no intent on using them. I was at a sale a while back that had 2 two pretty beat up anvils sell for $650 and $700, while a beautiful 36" x 30" Champion forge with an attached #400 blower sold for $75 after 2 bids. The forge came home with me while the anvils did not.

Crazy prices here !
Surely though this one is purely speculative !
