petronix ignition trouble

has anyone had trouble with their ignition unit? my tractor gets up to about 2800 rpms and starts skipping. plugs are new valves are adjusted carb is clean also . I have had these units go dead but never had this trouble ep

check the unit for cracks I had one do about the same thing and it drove me nuts trying to figure it out.

At that speed you could be floating valves on stock springs? Try a heavy load at 2300. If ignition it should do it there.

Had one that would miss randomly. We chased the miss for 1 season and found problem was Distributor was not tightened. This caused a poor ground situation. Just something to look at.
