PHOTO - County Super 6 4wd tractor

County Commercial Cars in England made crawlers based on Fordson E27N & DDN Majors. In 1960 is released equel wheel drive tractors based on the Super Major with 4 cyl 52HP diesel engine. Then they released this higher HP version.
Based on the Super Major with strengthened gearbox and back axle components, fitted with 6cyl Ford diesel engine from truck, developed 92HP.
The drive to the front axle was via shafts taken off the rear axles running down each side of the tractor to differentials for each front wheel. This gave them true 4wd and diff lock worked on all 4 wheels.
County went onto build thousands of 4wd tractors based on this system constructed on Ford tractors up until the late 1980's.
More detailed photos of this are on the Fordson Forum.

There were a few of those right around here. Last one that I knew of belonged to a guy right across the road from where the Ford dealer was. He passed away and his widow had an auction two years ago. I talked to the guy that bought it,I think he was from Nebraska or Kansas. Came all the way up here to Michigan to buy it,over 1000 miles. They are quite the collectors item anymore.
