I believe this is the original tail board that came on my dad's 1949 Cub mower. I was surprised that it is painted yellow.

A friend dropped this off for me, I believe looking at the rest of the mower this is all original. Swath board looks like it may be stained but the pitman stick looks like it was painted cream. It is still showing original rivets. I will attach a couple pics for you

I think I have one just like it in my Grandpa's tool shed from his old Horse drawn (used tractor in 1960's) mower. It broken too but could be used for a Pattern.
 
Nice. I believe the tail boards are made of pine. Obviously, my dad caught his on something and broke it. He took the hardware off it and made one out of oak. It is still in use. I can see the same color paint on the pitman that I have. The original sickle bar was only 4.5 ft. Dad bought a 5 ft. one to replace it. The 4.5 ft. one is still in his garage.
