Got this 1060 on an auction and picked it up today. Seems to be in real nice shape. Will see how good when I get it home and running

Didn't the 1060 have a lighter transmission than the 1160? Did it use 60 chain where the 1160 had 80 chain. Or am I thinking of the 1000 series??
Yes Steve, the 1060 -1160 are 100% the same machine in capacity and engine options, ect, the 1160 hs the ductal iron transmission /axle tubes, double center drive wheels, heavier frame and side tin plus a number of strengthening added structure,, yes again on the 80 drive chain to the header and beater shaft, as well as double # 60 cylinder drive std, the 1969 and 1970 models came with the same clean grain delivery system size as the 1660/1665 had from 1967-1968 as well as the 1660/1665 dual flighting unloading auger tube,, I may have missed something,,

Man that looks high on that trailer. We had a 960. This looks so much bigger.
the 1060 was a 42" machine the 960 a 40" 960 was a unit-body machine with grain pan,, 42 and 52" machines have a raddle chain and full frames, 1060 is more than a 960 in capacity, but when you get to the 1969 and 1970 960's they are not far from a 1060 in performance , the one in my pics is a 1969, it has updated HP as well as a bigger clean grain elevator, this allows the addition of a 16' hdr like mine came with, a step up from my 1968 960 with 14' hdr,, a shot here of three of mine at work in over 100BPA Wheat, 1969 1660 20" hdr- 1969 960 16' hdr- 1968 960 14' hdr all ran right with each other I won the still held award for the lowest dockage sample brought to elevator in Wyoming that year 1999 it ws

That is some good looking wheat! We ran 80 acres of wheat for a neighbor with the 1160, 1660 and 1665 but only yielded about 50 bushel per acre.
