Those were Grandma Violas favorite. They were everywhere around the buildings on the farm, even around the outhouse. My Aunt still lives in the farmhouse at age 90 and her kids, my cousins, take off all the gardening now.

That is something! With a name like Viola must have some roots across the big pond,

Her maiden name was Wirth as in Baron von Wirth in Barvaria. Her Mom, my Great Grandmother, was born in a small village at the base of the southern Alps near the Austrian border. A visit to that area is on my bucket list.
