Picture Perfect

Adirondack case guy

Many of you may not know, but one of the uncles running the home farm died after a painful battle with cancer. He did all the plowing.
Today my cousin and I went up to a storage barn and dug out the big Kneverland plow for the 7220 and the CASE 8358 plow to hook onto my 931.
My cousin has never plowed so we went up and struck out a land up on the flats, and he was up and going with the 7220.
I came down and got my 931 and hooked it to the CASE plow. The tractor wheels are set a bit narrow, but the plow worked perfect behind it.
I am very pleased with the 931. It pulled the 5x18" plow like a bull.
It can handle it in 4th, without hesitating, but it was blowing coal, so I dropped back to 3rd to keep the water temp down to 190.
Everything went well until I snagged a ledge with 3 bottoms and blew a hyd. hose on the plow.
This tractor will be a real runner after it gets more hrs. on it.

Those are nice pics! I'm glad you got to use that tractor some. That plow 2would be about perfect behind my 1030 too.

This was the first real work the tractor has done since I rebuilt the engine, and made it a 426 cu. in. engine. Prior to this the engine had about 20hrs. of non load, run time. Just road time to and from tractor shows.
I was surprised how well the tractor performed with no calcium in the rear tires, but I had the DOM dialed in perfect so I had lots of front end weight on the rears.

Nice looking rig! Dad and I each bought new 6/16 3300 Case hydraulic reset plows in 1972. He pulled his with a 1070 and I pulled mine with the 1030. 5/18s is 90" and 6/16s is 96. You're doing good to pull 5/18s in that black soil.

That's about as good as it gets. Beautiful pictures, bet you are pretty proud of that 930. I could look at those pictures all day.

(quoted from post at 04:08:04 09/12/18) Those pictures look just like they came from an advertisement featuring new J.I. Case tractors and equipment, from the 1960?s
Gotta disagree. We didn't have cameras that good back then, not even the pros.

Like we say here when talking of someone that is quite excited, "I think he had a nasty curl in his tail"
Kinda nice to hear her bark, wasn't it?
