Piece under dist. cap

Hi,everyone. Is the bakelite point cover under the cap of my 1962 641 available anywhere? Everytime I remove the cap it sticks inside the cap and I am busting it up to get it apart. Why is it sticking anyway? Could it be the TSC cap I bought? Thanks in advance. Steve

That part is a dust cover, they are avialable. I got a new one at my local CNH dealer. They fit tight and are easy to break.

I buy both caps and dist covers (when needed) from CNH. I have had no problems with dust covers sticking inside the cap.

Don't know what or how you brake them I have never broke one and all of the ones I have played with did stick real good. All I do it tap on it with the handle of a screw drive not hard just a little light tap and it pops right off every time

Thanks for the input. I'll pick up a dust cover. And, Old, I think you misunderstood. The dust cover(and rotor) gets stuck in the cap-not on the dist. Trying to pull it apart with a pair of pliers, cracking it in places. Thanks for your thoughts, though. I'm think the TSC cap is a little too tight.
