pipe hangar spacing ?

i need to run some 3/4 inch black iron pipe for a propane heater in my pole barn. i have a truss that i can hang the pipe from. what is the correct spacing for the hangars? an internet search leans toward one hangar every 8 feet. doesnt seem like enough support. any thoughts?

i plan on using the 3/4 in split ring hangars in epoxy coating.

8 ft is probably just fine. if something gets hung on the pipe, go with 6 ft. Jim

I have a pipe fitter's handbook that says 7 feet. Regardless, 7 or 8 feet would be a maximum spacing, you can shorten the spacing if you think it is too far.

Is the pipe brittle ? Shorter spans don't cost much. Just sayin'.

How are the hangers anchored to the truss? Clamped around the lower chord or drilled and screwed through that cord? I suggest that would make a difference possible over the years. Leo

its new 3/4 black iron pipe. straight run 60 feet long. rather be safe than sorry.
