Planter ID help

My father in law has recently
purchased two 2 row JD planters that
we are trying to identify the models
of so he can get the correct ops
manual ordered for them. The
unpainted one with row markers has the row marker
trip made into the lifting arms and
the 2 legged deere emblems on seed
hoppers. The painted one looks
really close to being a clone of the
first planter but the fertlizer drive sprocket is larger, has a different hub setup on the packing wheels, and I can see under the paint that it has the 4 legged leaping deere decal with big antlers. What models are they ? A 246, 24 B or something else ?

Mark is correct-- JD 246 3-point planter -- 1953-1961. There was a 446 planter also.. Corn-cotton- peanuts.. Attachments could be dry or liquid fertilizer; insecticide.. Parts catalog No-PC 399..

The 446 planter was a pair of 246 mounted to a special hitch. And the 247-447 was the planter with the special cotten-peanut boxes but not vormaly sold outside those growing areas.
