Planting some soybeans with my 3020 and 7000 planter.

Sorry. Tried to add a photo but it did not work. Wish we had a simple way to upload photos without being a computer geek. I send photo's all the time on emails, phones,etc but can't seem to get it done on this link. I did upload a couple to the YTG Vintage Photos under JD 3020. Is there any easy to migrate from Vintage Photos to this site?

Nice equipment! We had a 7000 4 row like that till we had a barn fire (arson), and lost it along with our haybine. Never used it behind our 3020, always used the 2020. Just bought a kinze 4 row, 3000 series i believe. Anxious to see how it works, always heard good things about kinze.

Bought the planter in Missouri for $600 and spent about a year replacing and refurbishing every bearing and moving part on the planter. Spent over a month trying to figure out why the marker arms would not work...previous owner had it plumbed backwards. Right side drive sprocket was on backwards which kept running the drive chain off, etc. You learn a lot about a piece of equipment when you have to take it apart piece by piece and figure out how it actually works. Without the parts and technical manuals I'd still be trying to get everything to work properly. Soybeans are already up and it looks like a great spacing job and germination rate. This planter has the soybean cup system. Old equipment but it still does the job. I used the 3020 open station rather than my cab tractor as I have fond memories as a kid plowing and planting on the old two cylinders without the cab. Might use my 630 next year but it is a parade tractor and it is not used for field work. However, I do prefer the sound of that 630 throttled back as the governor kicks in with the chrome straight pipe.

Nice pics! We have one of our 630s hooked to the JD 7000 planter, which is a great combination. We planted 30 acres of corn on our hilly farm and used less than a tank of gas. I will try to take a picture if it quits raining long enough to finish corn.

If you use the 630 you'll be running wide open in 4th gear to hopefully be in the 5 MPH range. 5th gear will be too fast wide open and if you throttle back you'll be lugging it. BTDT. The '51 A was my favorite 2 cyl planting tractor, better than the 630. The A's muffler and air stack were annoying to look over, but the way I sat in the seat with both hands on the vertical steering wheel seemed to fit me just right.

Nice looking outfit. I see your fertlizer boxes are looking good also. Mine were not in good shape so I choose to remove them and just use a truck broadcast type spreader.

We had a 50 A that we used for a lot of stuff on the farm. It did have a lot of useable power and I loved to drive it. If it would of had power steering I would have been in heaven. Dad sold that "A" to a farmer about 20 miles away. I'm going to try and buy it back if it is in useable shape.
