Please Help Engine Noiseq

Ok just in case your not familiar with me.. I have a 1945 Ford 9N.. 12v Conversion, W/ front mounted Distributer. So I took your advise and tore down my front end to get to the Crank Pulley. (It's making on heck of a squealing noise.) I thought I would take the plugs out and test compression and when I had all the plugs out my Ford no longer makes the noise. When I put the first plug back in it starts up again. Weird!

As I was tearing down the front end I noticed alot of oil and dirt on the fornt of the oil pan just below the Crank Pulley...

What do you think the noise is? Font Crank seal go out and siesed the bearing?

Listen to the noise and tell me what you think.

MY WAG......
You say: "When I put the first plug back in it starts up again. Weird!

Front crank rope seal Leaking(wore out)....
Maybe pressure on the worn seal with the #1 sparkie installed, building up cylinder compression, pushing down the crank end just far enough to rub on the seal slot of the oil pan!!!???????????
Also maybe a spun front crank bearing( you would think it would be heard, ALL the time...(if that were the case)?????

Gary :?

As when you posted before I and others thought front pulley, but you don't say if you have ever removed the front pulley. Have you?

Not yet.. I just go the impact wrench today.. It still may be that just thought it was odd that with all the pugs out it stops making the noise..

Not the plugs dang! Looks likt its the Crank bearing... I will have to pull and just rebuild it. It wouldnt make any sence to pull it and put all the origonal parts back in! Thanks for all your help
