Alright folks, sorry for the last request that was lacking the photo part. Here is the re-post with photo.

Well, it's an "N." That's about all I can tell from that one photo.
Three or four speed transmission? Four speed would make it an 8N.
If it has four forward speeds and the distributor is front mounted, it would be an early 8N, 1948-mid 50s, I believe. If it's a side mount distributor it would be a later 8N: mid 50's through 1952.

However, it does not appear that your generator is on the left side like it would be with a late model 8N.

Three speed could be a 9N or an 2N. They were originally gray in color but many were repainted to look like the 8Ns.

Can you find a serial number stamped into the block near the oil dipstick?

I'm guessing a 2N, depending on the tranny.

Alright, the jig is up.

My father in law gave me the bulletin board copy that I'm attaching. He didn't have a jpg or gif for me to attach to the online ads and my scanner was on the fritz. So I went online looking for a stock photo.

He insisted it was a 1952 8N and all of the sites like this one had the wheel style and other factors like the Fergusson system and 3 speed as pointing to the 9N. So I drove over to his house and was fairly certain that the serial number was 9N87975 -- making it one of the last 9N's built in 1941. I'm just trying to get unbiased second opinions.

It is a nice tractor in good shape and comes with the brush hog. I'll let him deal with the email and phone calls.

I didn't read your other post but hope you're not considering buying that tractor - not at that price anyway.
Here's a photo of a 2000 a friend of mine just sold last week for $3800. 6 sp, PS, live hyds, a real drawbar etc. Heck of a lot more tractor for not a lot more $

Clearly, a 9N rather than an 8N, let alone a 52.
