They make special glues just for plexiglass that melts into the plastic and more or less welds it together. Depending on how well the parts fit you might use IPS Weld-on 3 or IPS Weld-on 4.

Where the parts are cut if you want it to look nice and you have an acetylene torch you can pass the flame over the edge and it will look like it's been sanded and polished.

I use crazy glue and drill with little screws, hold for me. Have you considered the water proof bags like for cell phones and cameras I use them when I go canoeing.

You can solvent-weld it with methylene chloride. Once you get the hang of it makes a super strong nice looking bond. Below is an example from US Plastics. Kind of pricey when marketed as an adhesive but I suppose if you could find methylene chloride elsewhere that would work too.

They have those down in the woodshop at work. They do all of the plastic work around the casino. Blasted expensive but it sure works. Another thing to check is a good hobby shop. A bottle of this stuff works very well. Take a piece of scrap with you and see how it works on your plastic. Not all glue works on all plastic. Another thing is go talk to a glass shop. They work with plastic as a side line.

In the early eighties we used ether to bond acrylic . The results were spectacular , that is if you remained conscious for long enough to admire them .

In the 1990's I worked temporarily for a company that made hundreds of these kind of display cases. We would just cut the parts out on a table saw, flame the edges and glue them together. They were a lot more simple to make than they look.

I make PG covers for my model ships and use G-S Hypo I get off Ebay. I use the small tube since my largest display case is 30x12x22 inches. It's not a solvent glue per se and doesn't run. Made for glueing slick surfaces to slick surfaces...like diamonds in gold mountings and such.

I initially thought about a "welding" type glue but didn't want any accidents. You may choose something like an acid that melts the plastic, like PVC cement melts PVC Pipe.
