plow identification help!

Im hoping someone here can help me. I found 2 sets of trailer plows on craigslist that I was interested in. I asked the seller if he knew what brand they were so I could get a better idea of what there worth and how hard it will be to get parts. He said he does not know what make they are. Maybe someone here can help me. There's one on steel wheels and another on rubber. Neither one appears to have a trailing wheel (I think that's what its called). I don't know much about plows so any and all help would be appreciated! Thanks!!

The old blacksmith shares are hard to find,irregardless of brand.So will most other parts. The prices listed are fair,about normal.Dont play the "what's it worth" game. If you need or want them,just buy them. Any 'difference' in prices is not enough to make or break you.I've seen plows like that sell at auction sell anywhere 25 to 500 dollars.150 to 250 is ballpark.As for brand,look on the cast parts.Most mainline conpanys put a logo on the cast iron parts. Sometimes a part number can be used to identify brand

Something about the rubber tired plow reminds me of the David Bradley plow that we have. Can't be certain from the pics, but it looks quite familiar.

I think they are IH. The first one looks like a little wonder and the second one looks like a #8 little genius.

Yes, a IH #4 Little Wonder on steel and an IH #8 Little Genius on rubber.

I would lean toward the #8. The #4 has cast iron moldboards and the cast shares will be harder to come by and impossible to fix compared to the steel shares on the #8.

So there probably ih plows. did a no 8 2 bottom only come in a 2-14? I have a farmall super c and I believe I could pull a 2-14 from what I've read. The seller said he did not know how big they were either. If there a 2-16 I probably would not be interested because I don't think I could handle them. My friend and I found them and we were looking to buy both of them so he can pull one with his model A john deere and I could pull one with my super c. I can only find a no. 8 in 2-14. Thanks guys for the input here! If there not too big I thin k we might go bring them home this weekend

A #8 could come in 10" to 18" frame sizes. Just from looking at the picture, that #8 could be a 16" frame. You'll want to measure across the beams, left side of left beam to left side of right beam, perpendicular to the beam, to find the cutting width. (center of beam to center of beam will get you the same measurement). The #4 looks like it could be a 12" or 14".

Even if the #8 is a 16" frame, I really like the looks of it. I see moldboard extensions, trashboards, and I prefer rubber tires over steel. And its got the 1948 and later hitch plates that locate the hitch at a more ideal location than the early hitch plates. I'd buy it just so if a 14" came along that needed some work, you could swap some parts around and have a really nice plow.

ill have to measure it then when we go look. Even if the no.8 is a 16 my friend could use that on his A and I could pull the no.4 if its smaller. does anyone have any connections to find new wear parts for either of these plows in case we need them?

What size are the shares?
How many bottoms per plow?
Does the rubber tired one have spoke or solid rubber wheels?
Is there any markings on the tops of the beams?
How is the hitch rigged?

IF a 2 bottom, JD made them that way for several years both in steel and rubber.
