Plow knee knocker

Mechanism known as knee knocker was engineered to disengage hand clutch when an obstruction such as rock/root was encountered on JD 2 cyl tractors used to pull a moldboard with a spring safety hitch when hitch unlatched. Disengaged clutch handle hitting tractor operators knee gave mechanism it name.

I have one still in the original bundle ,with a tag wired to it..never have used one and have the "non-broken" knee to prove it ;^)

I seen a lot of tractors with wear spots on the clutch handle where they got disingauged over the years. I know a guy that still has his hooked up on his tractor.

The plow hitch doesn't unlatch or disconnect in any way. The plow tongue has built in springs that compress when the plow hits a solid or
semi-solid object and the tongue lengthens pulling on a chain linkage device that disengages the tractor's clutch by moving the hand lever back. This
lever can strike the operator's knee if the operator is setting forward in the seat or the clutch handle linkage is adjusted so the lever comes to an
extreme rearward position when the clutch is disengaged.
