plow point

hello helpful friends. was needing a little information on plow points. i have an old john deere trip plow. i need to put some points on it so it will go in the ground better. my Dad was around at that time. now he is gone so a little lost. pictures would be good if possible. i am pretty crafty with a welder and torch, not to mention hammer... lol. thanks for any help or advice..

Are they 2-piece share/moldboard bottoms or three-piece share/shin/moldboard bottoms?
The 3-piece ones are the high speed bottoms and parts are still available.
My father rebuilt the 2-piece ones for our 44H plow right in the farm shop.

Where can you get those points and edges anymore? I just have a few left.

If it's a blacksmith share (solid point) get on ebay and find an old Deere operators manual for your plow number. It show's you how to renew what you have with heat and a hammer.

I've seen a bunch of them repaired with strip's cut from an old road scraper blade. They're too ugly for me but they work.
