plow question

I have an old 2010ru. I was looking to try to plow a small patch of my pasture to make a food plot. I have been looking for a plow to break the sod. I have access to a 2 bottom 3pt.(Ferguson style) small plow that my dad has in an old barn. With my wheels set out wide for mowing, would this still work? Or do I need to look for a 3 bottom? Currently I don't have any weights, other than a loader on it. Also, what category of 3 pt do I have? Tractordata doesn't have that info on this tractor.
Thanks in advance,
Cory

Your 2010 is a category 2 hitch. My experience with
John Deere fully mounted plows is that the wheel
setting does not change if its a 2, 3 or 4 bottom.
If you get a pull type plow then wheel setting needs
to be correct for the size of plow. Your tractor
most likely has enough weight to handle a 2 bottom
plow fine (I'm supposing your rear wheels have fluid
in them to counterweight the loader). Can you move
your wheels in or would they hit your loader frame?

I have a weight box for my loader, so i dont think there is fluid in the tires. And, yes the tires wont move in unless the loader is removed. Its a 46A loader attached to the rear axle. Thanks for the response, Paul. Its also in another state, which is why i am asking before i make the trip to get it.

Are you willing to remove the loader to plow? To
make use of your father's plow I'm guessing you'll
need the wheels as far in as possible. Perhaps you
could find someone close by who would be willing to
plow it for you?
