what do you folks use on moldboard plows to prevent rust and where can i buy it? we always used grease, but i'm looking for something cleaner. thanks in advance, chuck

We use plow coat it is a soft black coating that comes off easy when you use the implement again. we get ours at the equipment dealer and the local rural king. It comes in an aersol can so its easy to use.

Grease or paint. There"s a special soft paint made just for plow moldboards you can buy,but regular undercoating in a rattle can works just the same and is cheaper.

We spray on whatever old spray paint we have laying around. Scours off in a short distance, and once it's dry it stays on, unlike grease which never dries and will go away eventually.

We use a product called EZ SLIDE comes in a spray can, its graphite lube spray that completely covers the bottom and completly dries. We spray it on when were done plowing and the plow sits outside and then in the spring by the time you make your first pass it will look as shiny as when you quit last spring.

I'm with Don. I use a can of cheap spray paint. I haven't used the plow in 2 years and its still covered. If you have any sandy or gravelly soil it will scour up real quick.
I've tried grease on the horse plow but if the plow is going to sit outside the elements will wear it away.
