Plowing results

So last weekend we did our plowing. I should give alittle history first, the plow I got free from my uncle, it is not a ford plow but what I think is a IH, little Genius that someone converted to a mounted plow. I had quite a time getting it to follow me straight threw the field but it still worked pretty good. The little 8n had its hands full sometimes but once I got used to plowing with it all went well. One thing I did was take the colters off because the field had a lot of corn stalks and the plow kept plugging. Once I removed them I did not plug up any more. I don't know how much time I am going to spend on this plow since I hardly ever use it, like once in four years, but it was fun just the same.

Looks like you did quite a bit of acreage. It is really fun to listen to that engine work hard pulling the plow.

Our club had 9 tractor and plows out that day, the biggest being a 5 bottoms mostly 2 and 3's. We started around 9 and got done around 4:30. Just a lot of fun,

Set your colters with finger distance between blade and point. Turn so it will run
straight with edge of plow. It shouldn't plug when set right.

Thanks for that; That's how I lined my Coulter up but I was still unsure about how close. this is the first time in all my fishing for plow know-how that I've heard anything about the Coulter adjustments.
