Plowing with tractor set on 30in rows

I have an F135H semi mount plow and the
4020 I want to pull it with has the wheels
set for 30 inch rows. I know to set the
hitch on the plow by the book, it says to
slide hitch over on the frame of the plow
to set it for your wheel width. The chart
in the book doesn't have settings for a
tractor that narrow. My question is if I
can slide that hitch all the way over for
the first bottom to take a full cut without
making the plow pulling awkwardly? If
anybody has any experience trying this, I'd
love to hear how it went. Thanks in
advance!

I think with a semi mount plow, the inside of the tires need to be about 30 or 32 inches from the center of the tractor. The older mounted plows were 25 inches. I have a 1250 plow and the book says 32 inches for it. My 810 says 25 inches.

Here is some information about hitching the F145 plows. I think the wheel tread spacing chart is from center line to inside wall of rear tire. The F145 plows require some pretty wide set wheels.

I know the proper way to set it is to slide the wheels out, but we use this tractor to side dress, so I'm not too keen on moving the wheels out on a tractor that hasn't been set wide for probly 20 years just to plow a few acres. It appears the hitch can be moved over far enough to take a full cut but I'm just concerned how it might track. Its an F135H 6X16 if that makes any difference.

I tried this very thing for the very same reason as you. I even went so far as to drill another hole in the hitch crossbar to slide the hitch over. It didn't work very well. The plow did not track well and did a poor job of plowing. I ended up putting everything back where it was. I later bought a 1450 plow that allowed leaving the wheels set narrow and did a good job while doing so. Mike
