What would be a profitable rate for (moldboard)plowing 200 acres in Montgomery Pa area? Will look for Pa custom rates but would appreciate others inpuy.

Thanks for replys.I found Michigan state updated 103008 an they say 18.44 per acre. I think rate for Pa should be even higher as Pa has very abrasive soils.Having plowed many acre of Pa soil an also some mid west soils i know there is great difference.Again thanks inpuT.

If it is small irregular fields you will have to charge by the hour. I charge $65/hr. If it is all in 1 or 2 rectangular fields then you can charge by acre.

For $20/acre, I would leave the tractor in the shed before I would custom plow. Most people are willing to farm for free, and some will even pay to do it, so rate surveys are a way landlords can "negotiate" cheap rates.
