while starting my JD-B, got me thinking, haven't change plugs, [or oil for that fact] which plug would be best/correct for it. it has a 3 number auto-lite somthing like 863/853. [can't remember,it was hours ago]

I use Autolite in my gas 60. JUST AVOID CHAMPION. Never had a champion plug that didnt foul in a 2 cyl. I have thought about going with a "Splitfire" Plug; but never got around to it.

DEpends on the year of your B. Ones with 7/8 plugs usually do good on Autolite 3077. If it has 18mm plugs try Autolite 3116. I agree with Deere Scotty, stay away from Champions. Any plug can foul if the engine never gets hot, as in parades and shows. An occasional workout will keep them clean.

The 3 digit 18mm Autolite numbers are 386 but Id use the hotter 388. However and especially if its a Magneto Ignition, Id use the non resistor 3116 like Paul mentioned. Use shutters or air curtains to get the temp up to 180 and over and dont run the carb any richer then necessary helps re4duce fouling
