Plumbing a Loader 504U

I need advice on how to plumb a loader on my 504U. The tractor does not have remotes. Went to a salvage yard looking for a remote. None were to be found, but found a power beyond plate. Researching on how to plumb, the pressure port is the PBP and reading there is supposed to be a plug on the back of the valve body for return. My valve body does not have a plug. So, can I plumb the return to the 1 1/8 plug on top of the valve or is there another place to plumb? Or should I go ahead and get a remote? Thanks!

I will be watching this with interest, as I am working with the same thing on my IH 544 hydro (which appears to be identical in that area).

Do you have a part number for the block you purchased?

If I was mounting a loader on the tractor, I would take the small pressure line loose, put in an elbow on the line. Then route a hose to the loader control valve with a return back to where small metal line was attached to lift housing. Making sure the loader valve has a relief set to tractors pressure requirement.

As long as the return goes back to the rear case it will be fine. I would rather see it return back to the transmission case directly this alleviates the oil having to flow back through the valve causing heat and back pressure. On a 5745 it is returned back through a port on the bottom right side of the transmission case. If the top link to the 3pt is removeable you could return there and remove it to drill and tap. If you use pipe threads for the hole you can get flush face plugs so it would not interfere with 3pt work if you wre not using the loader. It will want to be bigger than the pressure line. So if pressure is 1/2 inch you want 3/4 for the return.

If he returns oil from the loader ''to sump'' his 3-point hitch won't work.

Not connecting to the sump. The flow goes back to the three point as it did before. The three point may not work as well if used at the same time loader is being
used because flow is being diverted to loader function. I have installed loaders on dozens of tractors. I drafted a Davis loader to a IHC 2400A just for fun and
drafted a Kubota loader to a family members John Deere 850. I plumbed them the same way.

Any other power beyond plate that I have seen as I researched this had two ports. One for pressure and one for the return. It would replace the blank plate and provide the return. Several venders have them. Some are cast and some are machined out of plate. Either one should work.

geok, I'm not sure who you are replying to, my comment was directed at caterpillar guy who was the one that suggested returning the flow from the loader valve to the rear housing or transmission.

I commented it needs to go to the hitch valve

SURE would be nice if we had ONE Forum with up-to-date software that would keep replies with the correct original posts, etc..

The setup here is ridiculous in that respect, IMHO.

Here is how to plumb for oil supply to a loader that has its own control valves. ( tractor would not have aux valves)
