Pocket knife, again

This didn't fit the pocket knife thread below. It obviously isn't a carrying knife. I keep it carefully protected in a plastic box in a dresser drawer.

The father of an old friend carved this knife in 2013. He died at age 94 in 2016. The knife is all wood - even the pins and blade springs. It's a keepsake.

The overall length with the blades closed is 4 1/4 inches.

That is nice! He was Very talented.
Write a little note about the carver with dates, etc. and keep it with the knife. That way future generations will treasure it too.

That's truely a one of a kind to be treasured by anyone who own's it. Which begs the question of didn't the craftsman have family that wanted it? I've never made anything near that nice but my daughter want's everything I make before I can injoy it myself. My son doesn't care who made it as long as he can borrow it and not return it.

This old gentleman made lots of wooden pocket knives. His son-in-law said that he would finish one, look it over real good, and if it didn't meet his strict approval, he'd chuck it into the trash can.

He was a very interesting guy. He had a small horse shoe factory in his working years. He made shoes for race horses and travelled all over the country in his business. He was also a pilot and had his own grass airstrip out behind his place.
