I have an old Cockshutt 30 with what I think is the original 12 volt generator. Sometimes it shows a charge, other times a discharge. It will discharge to the point the tractor dies due to low voltage- it's a propane and has an electric fuel valve. I also have to unhitch the battery or it draws down. The easy fix is a 12 volt alternator, but is there a simple fix to the gen. problem?

First of all the 30 was 6 volt when new. Generator if original should be an Auto-Lite. Now with that said what checks have you made to the generator and the regulator ? Do you have a voltmeter. Is this factory propane? Do you have a serial number? Your turn. J.
