Polarizing positive ground generator

Does anyone know the correct way to polarize a 12v positive ground delco remey generator with cut out relay? It s on a 1947 john deere model D. Thanks!

Polarize the same way you would with a (-) ground Delco ''A system'' generator, before staring the engine momentarily jumper across the cutout terminals.
 
I agree with the other fine gents. Polarize BEFORE start up using a jumper wire etc to momentarily
flash/jump from BAT over to GEN/ARM and you should get a small spark. Same things accomplished if you jumped
from BAT direct to the Gennys ARM post. This is for POS or NEG ground. The Generator as well as a Cutout
Relay or a VR needs to have a good ground and the BAT terminal needs a path to the ungrounded battery post
often via a series ammeter...
