Portable tool box, tool roll etc....

What do you guys like to use to take tools along, like when working around the place, or in the field?
I have a Snap-on UT22 cantilever tool box that's my first pick, and a similar military surplus one that I think is from WW2!
Ordered a BucketBoss and a CLC tool rolls off Amazon, always liked tool rolls for in the pickup, plus they give you a place to lay things out when working in the field.
What do you guys like, and why?

I use the aircraft maintenance rule . If you break down you are going to crash and die so think like you are working on an airplane. I never carry any tools. My friend ,on the other hand ,can rebuild his motor on the side of Rt.80.Worst case I can borrow stuf from him.

Okay due to the post below I was thinking motorcycle carry along tools. My Caddy trunk is a combo of Snap-On soft bags, Craftsman boxes ,Tupperware containers. Stack-on box. Electrical suppllies ,fluids, grease guns, high voltage splicing tapes, spare shrink boots. Special tapes the Swedes from ABB cable gave me. Conncotions of car polish all mixed into one large container. Heaviest jumper cables I could find. Old oil cans [full] 10 gallons of garage sale anti-freeze. Windshield washer gallons. Trans fluid. Special seat do sit on edge of transformers while working. Trays from other tools boxes filled with more tools. Extra modular elbows for connections in manholes. Silicone grease packs. Welding hood. Rain gear. Some type of car wax holding tray from a sale. Tupperware tray of tools I'm selling from sales. My mileage would probably go up alot if I rethought that.I think there is even a planter full of Irises.

same here - tool rolls are the way to go for
wrenches, punches, screw drivers.

Sockets, I like the long socket holders with the
handle, with the little clips ... too hard to
describe, but I think you know what I mean.

I find with tool cases or tool boxes, you spend to
much time either searching or re-sorting.

I bought a slightly lifted 88 ford with big mud
tires as a traveling tool box. It hasn't let me
down, that thing goes anywhere I need it to.

One odd item I carry is an old piece of carpet.
About 4'x4' - stays rolled up in the tool box -
it's a great thing to have.

Working on asphalt, it's a lot nicer to kneel on.
On damp ground it'll keep you dry. Drop
something, it's easy to find. Change shoes, it's
nice to have clean area to stand.

Dad has a tool roll that fits over a 5 gal bucket. That is pretty handy.
Either way you never have what you need and keep making more trips.
Even at our little place we thought many times of buying an old truck with the tool box bed on it and filling it up.

Given that I work in the field all the time, I keep all my tools in a big, blue, rolling tool box. Yes, it has an engine, tires, and seats, but it's still nothing but a BIG tool box.

Now if I can't get my big tool box to the machine I keep a small plastic box with me to throw what I think I'll need in because I never have enough hands to hold everything. I got it quite a few years ago when the closest I could get to the crane I was wiring on was about 250 yards. The first night I stopped and got a tool pouch, better but no cigar......The second night I got the tool box and it has served me well every since. Around home I just tote what I think I'll need in my pockets and if I have to make a trip back to the shop then I just get a little extra exercise.

i bought this tool box for DH for xmas from harbor fright, this is better for him than to lug 8 small tool boxes out every time we have to work on something. till we turn our outdoor shop into an indoor shop anyhow.
