Possible gasket

Hello,
First time user here. You may have addressed my question in the past, I have not researched for a previous post.
I have a YM2000D about 1975 vintage. Yesterday I checked the water/antifreeze(Minnesota resident). It was low so I topped it off. Immediately on restart the engine began blowing heavy light blue smoke and took a moment for it to kick into full RPMs. Do I have a blown gasket someplace? I thought of this overnight, I have not checked the oil for "milky" appearance, will do that this morning.

Is it colder there than it has been recently? Diesels can be a little clattery & smokey when started cold. You always want to let it run at a low idle to get warmed up. Going straight into full rpm is not good on things.

I have bubbles when the engine is running with radiator cap open.
