Possible Scammer on YT

Possible Scammer trying to Contact me on one of my Items here on YT Market Place .
I reported it BUT !! That don't mean anything will happen

I have had several members respond to a want ad I had posted. All were new or fairly new members with few or no posts, all would say contact such and such at this email, he has what you need. In every case, only a first name was given and the email was an anonymous email like gmail or yahoo. At first I thought it was legit and sent emails asking about the parts I was looking for. The grammar was a little off in the email replies and in one response the scammer sent me a picture of a set of new pistons & sleeves (I was looking for some used sleeves) and said he has these which are in very good condition. I could tell right away from the picture he sent that it was not the right parts for my tractor. I told him as much and the scammer then asked me to send a picture of what I am looking for and he will check his store. I replied that if he does not know what they look like, then I seriously doubt he has them. Never heard another word from him

I understood and agree with everything you are saying. I just want to clarify one thing. Nothing against you but I don’t want your reply to perpetuate a false indication since this report/reply is associated with scammers. You mention gmail and yahoo mail as anonymous, while that might be somewhat true a better word may have been “common” Gmail is the largest web based email provider. YTers seem to be great “pigeon holers,” I just don’t want people to read this and then assume that anybody with a Gmail or Yahoo mail should be considered suspicious. I have a gmail as do many in my immediate family, we are just common people who were guided to a well known email provider. I would suppose you may have an email that is associated with a local provider, that is great. Not unlike the area where I grew up in Kansas has a local phone/internet company that provides email under their name bluevalley.net. Again I just want to point out that if someone has a common email as mentioned above or from some other popular web based provider it does not mean they are a likely gangster.

Right you are, it was not my intention to knock Gmail or yahoo. I use a free email service too. More a red flag to me than the Gmail or yahoo email, was the poor grammar and false representation of the parts.
