post hole auger questions

Hey guys,
Been Digging around for the drive shaft for this post hole auger. It looks like an odd one. Have not seen a splined implement end (used to seeing the cross drilled 1-1/4" smooth).
This one has 19 splines and measures out to 1-3/4" dia. I could not find a tag anywhere to lead me to a diagram. i suspect there may be a part missing like maybe a clutch or something between the splines and the driveshaft.
Any insight you guys might have would be much appreciated.

Clean off the very end of the shaft. May
be a bolt hole or something.

Got ahold of Glenn who had posted his email address in another thread here a while back.
Glenn Danuser <[email protected]>
He verified it is an early F7 or F8 as you suggested. he also suggested I go with a kit to rebuild/retrofit a modern pinion shaft to it.

If i can't find the old shaft hanging around, I may go with that option.
