posting pictures

I can't seam to find the way to post pictures. I have been able to post pictures with this new forum, in the past. Has something changed? What I did notice is most of my pictures were not available, like gone. Maybe I am just getting too old figure things out anymore. Stan

Posting pictures in this new forum is the easiest it has ever been. You can use the "attach files" button below the reply window, OR you can simply copy and paste the picture into your reply window.

You can post screenshots without having to save them as files first. Just take the screenshot and paste it into the reply window.

I think it's easier too in a way but the file size messes me up every time. Doesn't matter how close I get when I take a picture I have to go back and edit at least a third off to upload it. Might be the camera saves it in a resolution that's too high ?

Yes, that is due to the size the camera saves the file in.

Being closer to the object doesn't make the picture smaller.

You should be able to reduce the resolution setting for your camera to create smaller files. If not, you'll be stuck cropping or resizing if you want to post pictures.

Hi 37Chief. When you press the Attached files box, it will offer you three choices . I always select photo library, which gives me access to all pictures stored on my phone. Once you have selected your photo, at the top of the screen you can either cancel ( on the left side) or Add ( on the right side) you must click on add for your photo to appear. After your photo has appeared on your screen, you just click post rely

My problem is not with posting pictures, never could do that. It is every since the new system started I cannot post any dew posts, old site no problems, new cannot find a way to do it, After 3 months I finaly found a way to post a reply. And I have tried to contact the moderators and no replys from there. I went from reading most sections to down to only 3 sections now and as bad as this new site has been I fell like leaving altogether. Every thing is harder to read. And good computor shop cannnot figure it out either, Has ben in busines since he was a teanager and now in his upper 50.s And can build a coumper from groung up but still he cannot figure this out. His business is not sellingnew computors butrepairing them for both individual customers and business. I have a good size monitor and still every thing is so small I have to use a baginfing glass to red all posts. And Stan I would like to talk to you about things in your part of the state but no way to put on a new post for you to be able to ask them.It conserns after life As I have relation bueried-creamated in your area but have no Idea how to go about finding where they might be. One is my Moms sister Was in San Deigo for years when she died back in the 90,s. And you being from San Dieago area though you might have some ideas how to find out.

If your current computer guy can not figure out how to change the zoom and font settings to make everything bigger, then you need a different computer guy.
Below is a screen shot of the above on my computer, can you read it easier? If you can, it is because I set the zoom at 170% vs 100%.

You seem to have figured out posting replies okay.
I take it you have not figured out how to start a thread ?
Try the "Post Thread" button at the top of a subject forum.

Then the below screen will show up.
At 1 fill in the title you want
At 2 fill in what you want to say
At 3 click to add a picture from whatever folder it is in on your computer.
At 4 click the Post Thread button.

Leroy, what might be going on, is you are trying to start a thread from inside an ongoing thread. You have to be outside the thread, in one of the forum topics, such as Tales before the red button labeled Post Thread shows up in the upper right hand of the page.

If you want to talk to Stan directly, instead of through a post, hover your mouse over his circle (it's called his avatar) and you should get a label. In the middle bottom of that label it says "start conversation". If you push that button it will bring up a page, sort of like a post, but it will be a private message to Stan. Fill it out with your message, push "start conversation" at the bottom, and Stan will get your private message. Depending on how Stan's profile is set up, he may also get an email saying he has a YT conversation. I'm going to start a conversation with you. Watch the envelope next to your name at the top, and see if you get my conversation.

To change the size of what you see, as soon as you open the YT page, look at the right side of the computer address bar at the top. There should be a magnifying glass icon. If you click that you can set the size of what you are viewing.

If one browser isn't displaying the website correctly, you might try a different browser. For example if you are using Chrome, try the Brave browser or the Firefox browser. Search by those names to download (free).

To change the size of what you see, as soon as you open the YT page, look at the right side of the computer address bar at the top. There should be a magnifying glass icon. If you click that you can set the size of what you are viewing.

That will vary depending on many variables such as which version of windows or other operating system as well as which browser you are using.
If Leroy can tell us which of those he is using, we/you/us could maybe help pin point how to change the text or everything to bigger.

Probably someting in computoras most of these sujestions are not showing up. When I am feeling better wil go thru replays as see what I can figur out and then probably take all posts to him with the computor and can find what seems to be missing.

theres probably some app that can do it-- to make the image file size smaller before you upload- some kinda image optimizer app
