Power beyond

I am installing the power beyond valve on my 995/6. I'm not sure which port is which. Of the two hoses shown, which is power and which is return?

It could be a bit more complicated as if the valve was fed wrong the oil is still available to the spools and would work but the relief valve in the loader valve would be at the end of the circuit instead at the inlet to the valve. You would do well to find which port at the adapter plate is flowing oil when the engine is turned over, then if you could, send a picture of the valve so we can locate the relief valve. If the valve is being fed improperly, parts of the valve are being fed high pressure that were not intended to such as the spool seals. Sorry but I have been down this road before and have seen what can happen if proper hookups are not followed.

I am beginning to think my best option would be to look for a power take off pump. Thanks for all the response to my call for help.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Power beyond system, the valve just has to be plumbed properly, with a valve that is dumping right back to sump, a simple loader valve with a relief will be good. It would be good if everyone knew how oil flows in the valve, the whole valve body return flows are common to the return to the outlet port of the valve including the relief valve dump, if the oil is plumbed into the return port, it pressurizes the whole body including high pressure against the spool seals and the pressure on the back side of the relief valve makes it worthless as high pressure is coming against the back side of it and keeping it from opening. In a Power Beyond type valve, a sleeve screws in with an internal Oring to take the flow out the end of the internal high pressure area and send it down stream to another valve, and a 3rd case drain line is added to keep the rest of the valve low pressure, (flow back to sump).

I was hoping I wouldn't need to know all that but I'm still trying to keep it in mind. The loader valve I'm using came from an old grader I junked awhile back . I removed the spools I won't need so it's a 2 spool valve. The outlet is plainly marked to tank. When piped to the hydraulics at the rear of the tractor the loader will work but the weight it will lift is no where near what I would expect. I'll guess around 300 lbs. I have nothing against the power beyond system, except I don't have one, can't find one, and can't even find a picture of one so I can make one. I probably can push a little snow the way it is but I don't give up easy.

If it were a Case built tractor, Saeli or Donl or Jean Marleau could probably find you one. I would contact them anyway, John I believe, is pretty exclusively Case, the other two may have used parts for that model. All States Ag is a very good outlet for used parts. Are you feeding the valve from the remote couplers presently?
