I have seen mention of Power Blocks several times on this forum and thought this would be interesting to members here.
Where's my time machine?

I think it had to do with the fact the 70 had live hyd's and power steering both of which took a little power to operate. A older friend that farmed with a 60 and a late A told me he was chopping silage with the 60 in low gear and sometimes had to disengage the clutch for lack of enough power in the big corn he had that year. After dinner he decided to try the A on the chopper and it could pull it in low gear. Tom

I remember when you could get those from Tractor Supply. That was back when TSC was an actual Tractor Supply.

I like how they must of used the figures for an all-fuel B to make it look even more impressive !

The power block is a great way to get the added power needed for a specific task in my case it was for plowing. My recently installed power block in the 60 worked and sounded great all day pulling 2 bottom 16's in 4th gear could have used 5th. Seriously considering bumping up the compression on our 70 pulling tractor for the same reason although not needed.

TSC around here is known as ?Tough S**t Charlies?.
If it?s farm related it?s either out of stock or they don?t carry it.

Info I have shows the main difference between those two tractors to be the 60 has a slower first gear. Stock engines are identical
in the 60 and A. First gear in 60 is 1 1/2 MPH whereas first gear in the A is 2 1/2 MPH. From there on up they match thru 4th gear
in the 60 which is the same as 3rd gear in the A. 2nd gear in 60 is 2 1/2 MPH. 1st gear in A is 2/12 MPH. 60 is slightly heavier
but that can be adjusted to bring both tractors weight and balance the same. The major difference between the tractors I'm looking
at is that much lower first gear in the 60. ???
