Power Director D19 knocking

Finished in-frame overhaul D19 gas. Runs good, but power director has serious knocking noise mid tractor. High/low works, and knocking seems to lessen when engaged. Any thoughts?

I suggest you remove the access panel on the side and rotate the PD to see if something is loose. On a WD PD I had one of the three connecting points that had come apart. I installed a cap screw and nut. That was over 30 years ago and it's still good.
