Complete Power Steering Assembly. Not to be used with front end loaders. For tractors without a cab. Part Reference Numbers: 83934944;83954900;87486289;D5NN3N503C;D5NN3N503F;D5NN3N503H;D8NN3N503JA;E1NN3N503BA;E1NN3N503BB;E1NN3N503BC Fits Models: 5600; 6600; 6600C; 6600O; 7000; 7100; 7600; 7600C

I have this column on a 70s ford 5000 tractor and was about to add a front loader to it. Is it true you cant use a loader with this steering column? Why? Is there a solution?

Where did you see this notation? I did a cursory check at the NH parts website and could not find a reference like that.

That said, Ford tractor PS boxes are generally not up to the task of continuous heavy front loader work. Of course, adequate
counterweight on the back, along with an appropriate sized bucket on the front should mitigate most fears of doing steering
box damage. As long as one realizes they're not operating an industrial wheel loader, they should be fine.

When hydrostatic steering came out in the mid-1980s, that solved a lot of problems with regards to loaders.

Your quote says:

Fits Models: 5600; 6600; 6600C; 6600O; 7000; 7100; 7600; 7600C

So according to that, it's not even intended for a 5000. Is it some sort of aftermarket power steering system?

I would question the accuracy of that
listing... the 6600C and 7600C are
rowcrops, with hydrostatic steering...
they use a completely different column
than the other models listed.
