power steering pump/ $1000 tractor

Hi, Photos show a tractor with 841 features that has the model number on the transmission case of 821. The photos show the power steering pump with a handy fill accessory that a previous owner installed. This was done to make daily fills to the power steering easily. The inventor of this found a solution to the about 5 leaks in the ps system. Just thought I would share this solution for all the leaky Ford power steering systems that are out there. Anyone have a good cover for me to start fixing up this tractor and bring it back to some originality. Mark my email is open

You want to get rid of that beautiful red neck engineering? Huh. I thought you were going into business selling the "upgrade"!

(sorry, no don't have any spares)

I can tell you for sure when i pull my cap off again on my 850 to do a fitler or whatnot, I and 100% for sure adding in a pipe nipple or something ( smaller than that )so i can top off oil without an act of congress getting the cap off thru my loader arms.

i have a loade ron my 850.. and as hard as the dern caps are to get off with a laoder frame in the way.. that actually ain't a bad idea. I will be doing something similar though smaller and more elegant to mine. i may weld or braze on a pipe bushing, and a plug in it, so i can simply pull the plug out of the bushing to top off oil.

That unmodified lid ( and probably pump ) are found on large Ford trucks of the 60's and 70's ( maybe 80's too ) I've also seen it on 60's clark forklifts. Some have a small fill cap pre installed.

I'm pretty sure the pump is a Vickers.

That's pretty redneck alright. At least he could have made that pipe half the length so it did not protrude past the hood.

Better yet, fix the leaks!

i've got a superior loader that has hardlines along the arms and hoses to / from then and some darn stubborn hose clamping system on it that makes it darn near impossible to change 1 hose without taking both apart.. :(
