Power Steering Valve

My 821 power steering pump (c3nn3a674c) only had 40# output. Took it apart , everything looks good except the flow control valve assembly and the spring. The spring was broke , found a replacement . My question does anyone know how to take apart the valve assembly (865345520), to remove the balls and spring. New one is $168, so you see why I would like to clean it out.

I am looking in the parts catalog, and it shows the balls separated from the valve. Have you tried warming it up and see if the balls fall out? I'm also curious what the other end looks like. If you want the image from the parts book, let me know.
