i have a to 35 and i have two hoses coming from lower steering colum would theis go to a pump if so does any one have a picture how to hook them up in order or does it matter thanks, al

That sounds like power steering
Do you also have the pump? Located at the left front side of engine?
I will take a look at mine and tell ya the right arrangement.
If your lucky, you have pump and both work.
The pumps are $$$500.00 and the spool for the steering column is $$$$ also.
Mine is starting to act up, I'm not a fan of these at all.
I have a front loader and can live without P/S/

I have a MF TO-35 with loader and no power steering and can hardly steer it at all. After about 9 months found the exact parts, pump and pedistal to convert to power steering. They also make PS kits but none i've found that work with the Davis loader.

tanks mark . i also have a loader and that is why i am looking into this i find it a bit hard to steer .i dont have the pump but have found one for 200 rebuilt may take a stab at it just not sure were the lines go once i get the pump .any help is greatly appreciated

I just went through this on my tractor. The outlet that is nearest to the shifting lever connects to upper outlet on the pump. The Massey dealer can get replacement hoses for about $200 which I choked at and had them made at NAPA for $30 apiece. But I took the old ones with me which the parts house used as a pattern. If you have no hoses at all you will definitely need to get them replaced add fluid and go from there. I was lucky and the hoses was all I needed. Is your loader a Davis?

Hi Archie, Did you change from a regular steering to power ? May have to give you a email when I start---in April or May when the snow goes.
My loader is a Davis 102. Have some maunals but loader doesn't seem to have filter or place to add fluid. Maybe the breather screen cap.
Haven't seen the condition of hoses yet. Put half the money down and have to get the rest before the snow goes.
We do have a NAPA store here but there are a lot of loggers and places that make up hydralic hoses.
Think I'll be needing a few gaskets, for the pump where it fits to the motor and the bottom of the power steering pedistal.

Hi Ron;
My tractor came stock with power steering. When I bought it the power steering had no fluid and had been out for so long that you couldn't see any wet spots. I found the filter and added flu ed it started leaking slowly and I was looking at the leak when it blew out and ruined a brand new pair of suede rough out shoes, daggone it. The original hoses had about four inch's of tubing at the steering column end and my replacements don't. It made it much harder to get them on as they have to feed under the steering arms. If you have them made you might ask if they have or can get the longer tubes.
My loader uses the frame work as it's fluid reservoir. There is about a half inch plug in the frame right below the valves that's where I added my fluid. How is the big hose from the reservoir to the pump routed?

Mourning, We have another snow storm happening,My tractor is outside with a tarp and about 2 feet of snow on it. So can't tell where that big hose is routed. Would send a picture but don't know how to attach it to this. Send me your email and I'll send a picture. Also will have to wait till the snow goes to check on that plug.
Tractor has only 1150 hours and the hour meter is still working. The guy I got it from says it was so hard to steer he didn't use it much and he took off loader once and said it was to big of a job to do too often. I beleive him !
I'm supposed to be getting the complete unit and the hoses are included but don't know the condition they will be in.
Does your steering work now ?
Their talking 5--8 inches of snow today. I'm a piano tuner and have a job about 30 miles away. If I didn't need the $ I wouldn't be driving today.
I have a TO-20 with a back blade I use to clear snow around the place but were getting so much there is no place to put it. That's one of the reasons I want to get the MF TO-35 loader useful, so I can move snow.
To bad about your shoes! My wood spliter broke a hose once and my new pair of bib overhals were full of it.
Thanks for the info. Ron

Ron my e-mail is [email protected]. The Davis Loader makes mine almost impossable to work on so I am trying to set up a hoist to lift it off hince the question about the hose. Mine will have to move from below the steering arms to above them and was wondering if it came that way origenally. Archie
