Power trol dummy plugs

I have a 70 which currently has two pioneer quick couplers attached to the hydraulic plugs on my power trol. I took my 45 loader off and intend to sell it, and intend to install a 3 pt hitch.
I have two other plugs that would be installed in lieu of the hydraulic line plugs. One is just a traditional dummy plug. The other has a screw in plug in the dummy plug, the function of which I don't recall.
Can someone advise the correct use/installation of these plugs to make the rockshaft work? I could probably swap and experiment with them and figure it out, but as I recall, each time you take one of those plugs out, you get oil everywhere!

The photo below shows a remote cylinder hydraulic plug on the left and a dummy plug on the right.

Notice that the dummy plug has a hollow point and is solid at the side hole.

At one time was using only one dummy plug and one remote cylinder hydraulic plug on "1011" one of our 53 Model 70s.

The remote cylinder hydraulic plug was installed on the bottom.

The powr-trol on "1011" was making an awful noise whenever the rockshaft arms were lowered.

Installed a second dummy plug on the bottom and the rockshaft arms lowered without any more noise.

Would suggest that you put the OEM dummy plug on the bottom to start.

Hopefully you won't have that problem.

You will lose some oil while installing both plugs.

Mr. Howell, I really appreciate all the stuff you post about your old 70's. My dad and uncle had three 70's and a 730, and it sure brings back memories hearing you talk about yours. Question though: none of the 70's on our farm had three point hitches. Was it common back in the day, for a farmer to order them without a three point hitch? Thanks.
