Power Trol Selctor Valve

I have a few questions about the Power Trol on my 70.
Selector valves- 1 or 2? There has been a lot of confusion on whether one is sufficient or not.
Also, where can I find one? Any good salvage yards out there that carry these?
Thanks,
Henry

The selector valve used in the powrtrol of a two number series tractor is used to get two way cylinder action by putting it in the upper (return) port. That being said I have a John Deere B that has a selector valve? and I know it is made a little differently than the ones in my 70's. You can have one made by MACfabrications and I have two phone numbers for him; 413-357-9098, 413-250-2200.
selector valve

Be sure you are using the right terminology, selective control valve (scv) and selector valve are not the same thing. You can get by without a selector valve and still use the scv's on your 70 to operate a cylinder. My loaders (45 & 45W) and my 82 snow blade operated with cylinders do not have or use selector valves as two way cylinder action is not needed. My B if operating a 44 plow would have two way cylinder action for depth control.
