A 6-2 will fit 1947-1950, S/N range 584,000-648,000. This is the range of A's that have a pressed steel frame with the 2-stick gearshift (non-creeper gear). Mike
 
I guess a better answer would have been 1947-1949, but according to one s/n list I've seen 1950 started at 646,530. Another I just looked at says 1950 starts at 648,000. Take your choice, sorry for any confusion. Mike
 
thankyou ,ive got a 49 that motor is stuck and i know where theres a 6-2 powerblock with pistons for $1000
 
Shop around some yet, dont spend 1000.00 on a no.2 with regular pistons, you won't be happy. You can find a no. 2 much cheaper as they are the most common, then bore it to 6.125 and get a set of oversize pistons from Hinrichs Repair in Illinois for 550.00 and you will be so happy with extra power, you won't believe.
