Powering steering

Men, John Deere "50" with power steering. Turns very easy, one finger. Right now when it is turned all the way to the left and I want to turn it back to the right, I can turn the steering wheel a full complete turn before the wheels on the ground begin to move. This will happen also when the front wheels are straight. I can turn steering wheel a complete turn before ground wheels turn. How do I correct this? Adjust the clearance between the sector gear and the worm gear located on top of the front pedestal.

First thing is look at the roll pin and the steering shaft splines. Then look at the sector gear and see if it might be loose .
