Prazi beam cutter?

I'm looking for something better than a chainsaw to cut big timbers. There is an attachment made by Prazi that is a chainsaw bar that attaches to a worm drive circular saw and has a guide. Search prazi for pics. Seems more accurate than free cutting with a chainsaw alone. Anyone ever seen one or operated one?

Yes, I have used one for many hours over many years. They are a great tool when used correctly. Make sure you have enough juice, thats a heck of a load. Make sure its up to speed before starting your cut, and keep it sharp.

They make a sawmill attachment for a chainsaw which would be better than freehand. The biggest issue is you need a special blade for ripping a log lengthwise. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ripping+chain+for+chainsaw&gclid=CjwKCAjw5P2aBhAlEiwAAdY7dDQPuGLIjdkOJDKNNR0ICxmaulBTU8kMXRcTnu3gttDzFilVRG_wGBoCEJgQAvD_BwE&hvadid=496397429642&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9026878&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=15376495126656738914&hvtargid=kwd-301693108993&hydadcr=8347_9904717&tag=googhydr-20&ref=pd_sl_1w6rq3n6hq_e

I used one years ago to build a log hme.Worked fine.If you buy the whole unit you will be fine.If you buy just the attachment make sure you buy a real good quality saw to run it.I just built another log home, this time I used a 16-5/16 circular saw.I liked that a lot better for milled pine logs. Both have the same quirk, how you start is how the cut goes. There is NO correcting once you've started.

Thanks for the great replies. We tried my buddy's 6x6 inch Porta-Band with a wood blade and it was worse than a chainsaw. The Prazi will do 12 which is about as big as I need to go.

I think first step is to choose the most powerful worm drive corded saw I can find, then add the prazi attachment. My need is crosscut only, we can rip 22-24 inches square and 20 feet long on the band saw mill. But even with extra clamps it can only cross cut a 24 inch block standing up. We have a request for some large sections of blocking 12 inches wide by 8 inches thick by 36 inches long for a local tire shop and I want the ends cut as square as I can. I'll let you know what I end up with.
