pressed steel rims

Was wondering how much weight I could lose
on my 52 A by going to pressed steel rims?
Also, what could I expect to pay for a set
of 14" with hubs to go with. If possible
I'd like to find someone with the whole
setup so I can just swap immediately and
lose the cast ones. Thanks for info

You should lose around 400 lbs. Wheel prices vary depending on where you are and the demand. As far as the hubs, Ive seen $150 to $250 a set. Depending on where you are, wheels are on photo ads from time to time and sometimes hubs. Ebay is another place to look for hubs, as well as salvage yards and parts jockeys. Other items can be removed to shave weight as well, the easy stuff includes oil bath and breather, gutting the powertrol.

My '48 A only lost about 200 pounds, but I did go up in tire size. Went from 12.4's on cast wheels to 16.9's on pressed wheels.

What clampdaddy said is true, if you drastically go up in tire size, the extra weight of the larger tire takes away from what you could lose. The amount of weight lost I gave below was based on using the same tires that were on the cast setup.
