Pressure washing

What is recommended for a suffactant to use with my presssure washer--simple green?? dish washing detergent?? I use oven cleaner for a starter to remove grease-- works real good and cheap. my old washer did not have a pick up for suffacant-- new one does-- what is recommended??

When I paint a tractor I spray the living heck out of it with oven cleaner and steam clean it. then I wipe it down with degreaser and paint it. Whatever you use make sure it wont leave a residue

simple green and purple stuff here too.
The purple stuff I buy by the gallon at the
discount type stores. Then I use a garden sprayer
to soak it down and let it set for awhile.
Sometimes in the washer too, sometimes just water.
depends on how bad the tractor is.
(finally bought my first pressure washer
last year. Wow, what a time and work saver!)

purple-power seems best.. get a 1 gallon pump up garden spayer at a garage sell or tag sell as people dont use them. they are perfect for spraying down the tractor with degreaser.. advanced auto parts has the 2.5 gallon containers. let soak...

then high pressure spray it down...

let it dry and then start over again...

a few times i've had to use a putty knives to peel off layers of grease on a couple of the worse.

I would not recommend using this on a tractor. I have used muratic acid and water on rusty metal. Wear a resperator, rubber gloves, eye protection and stay up wind. I apply it with an old paint brush and blast it with 3700 psi of water pressure. Repeat process as needed. Have cleaned up many things this way that had layers of rust. Then I use a wire brush on a right angle grinder to remove the last layer of rust. Primer with rustolum primer designed for heavy rust. Have had good results doing this.
