Primer and prep

This weekend I prepped and primed the rear end housing on the H. Primer adhered well with no issues but what I have discovered is some rough spots on the torque tube and the top cover of the transmission. The primer coated them well but I ran a gloved hand across and found them to be like micro burrs or something. The spot on the transmission is more like a spot from the casting process. I'm curious as to how someone else might handle this. I was thinking of grabbing my orbital sander and working down the spots on the torque tube and then spot priming. I'm not as bothered by the spot on the transmission top as it will be hidden by a rubber mat. Any input is appreciated.

It happens sometimes if there is dust present, the dust floats to the surface while the primer is wet and dries in the finish. All you have to do is sand it smooth with 220 grit paper and if you don't sand through the finish you would be good to go with the topcoat. If you do sand through just spot prime the sand through spots. It makes for a better finish in general if you make a routine of sanding between each coat of primer and finish. It gets smoother and better with each coat.
