Priming the hydraulic pump

I'm getting this IHC 404 ready to run - its been
sitting for more than 5 years. I've got the cylinders and all oiled but the pump is dry.
I changed the hydro filter, is there a way to
fill the filter canister back up before starting it?

I would take of one of the lines (inlet line) and try to slowly turn the pump shaft by hand and get it lubed up and filled with oil before starting, this also makes sure that the pump will rotate without breaking anything. Also let the oil sit in the pump for a while before starting, let that oil soak into the seals, shaft seal mostly. maybe even bench test the pump.
