Printer Question

We have had horrible luck with canon and hp inkjets I cannot recommend either

The black and white hp laser jet I have is 15 years old. The cartridges cost more than an ink jet printer when we have to buy one of the 2 pack about every 4 years. I have been interested in the color version of it shes a hp 1606dn you can find them for 80 dollars which is about what a laser toner cartridge costs. We aren’t in any sort of ink plan the Office Depot at fort dodge closed so I’m back to buying staples and all they have are 2 packs in person. I’m not sure the shelf life on them but I always just liked buying one.

She outlasted the store I bought it from and the 2nd store I bought ink from and is still spitting out the tax forms

Old Xerox repair guy here. The dry toner process is better for lasting longer and cost less in my opinion.

Currently we have a Brother B&W laser. It's been very reliable except the toner cartridge has a pre-programmed expiration date. It says it's out of material, but it keeps printing if I override the warning. We print about 20 pages a week and the cartridge lasted us about two years. It's fast and accurate but the quality is basic. When I need high-quality, I pay the print shop in town to do it for me.
